Replacement wheelchair on the way after disabled St. Cloud dog’s chair stolen

A disabled hospice dog named Baby in St. Cloud, Florida, relies on a specialized four-wheel wheelchair to move around, interact with other dogs, and relieve herself. Sarah Schmidt, founder of the Pittie Party of Central Florida, discovered Baby's wheelchair stolen from her porch on August 19. Without it, Baby is unable to perform basic activities on her own. Schmidt initially reached out to neighborhood groups and later contacted the St. Cloud police, who shared Baby's story on their Facebook page. Despite the ongoing investigation, the wheelchair remains missing. The story gained attention, leading to donations and offers to replace the stolen wheelchair. RUCK9, a Florida nonprofit, offered to provide a new wheelchair from the same manufacturer. Schmidt has placed a sign in her yard requesting the return of the original wheelchair, which would allow Baby to have one in the front yard and another in the back. The remaining donations will support Baby's medical care and the rescue's efforts for other special-needs and hospice dogs.
