Injured German shepherd receives hospice care through Broward County Animal Care partnership

Nico, a German shepherd, was found severely injured on a road in Pembroke Pines after being dropped from a vehicle. Broward County Animal Care took custody of Nico and discovered that he had traumatic injuries, tumors, and difficulty walking. Recognizing the need for specialized care, the agency partnered with Healy Pack Senior GSD Sanctuary, a rescue organization experienced in providing hospice care for senior dogs. The partnership allowed Nico to receive the comfort, dignity, and quality of life he needed in his final days.
