San Diego Humane Society highlights older animals for ‘Adopt a Senior Pet Month'

In honor of Adopt a Senior Pet Month, the San Diego Humane Society is urging animal lovers to consider adopting older pets. These animals, with their established personalities and life experience, can make wonderful companions for families. Among those waiting for new homes are Mike Jack, a 12-year-old dog, and Ali, a 10-year-old cat. Dr. Gary Weitzman, the president and CEO of the San Diego Humane Society, emphasized that senior pets often go overlooked due to their age but can offer a lot of love and companionship. The Humane Society lists several reasons to adopt a senior pet, including their established personalities, familiarity with household routines, and often lower energy levels suitable for a relaxed lifestyle. Adopting a senior pet also provides them with a chance to enjoy their later years in a loving home. For more information, visit the San Diego Humane Society.
