SD Humane Society highlights older animals for 'Adopt a Senior Pet Month'

The San Diego Humane Society is celebrating Adopt a Senior Pet Month by encouraging people to consider adopting older animals. They emphasize that senior pets, with their established personalities and life experience, can make wonderful companions for families. Two of the senior pets currently available for adoption are Mike Jack, a 12-year-old dog, and Ali, a 10-year-old cat. Dr. Gary Weitzman, the president and CEO of the San Diego Humane Society, highlighted that senior pets often go overlooked due to their age but can offer a lot of love and companionship. The Humane Society lists several reasons to adopt a senior pet, including their established personalities, familiarity with household routines, preference for a more relaxed lifestyle, and the opportunity to give them a loving home in their golden years.
