Winnipeg rescue gives senior dogs a second chance at love

Before the Bridge Senior K9 Rescue in Winnipeg is dedicated to giving older, abandoned dogs a loving second chance. Nicole McLeary, who started fostering five years ago after losing her own senior dog, has fostered over 20 dogs and found each one to be rewarding and peaceful companions. The rescue focuses on the most medically and behaviorally complex senior dogs, ensuring they receive the care they need before being adopted into loving homes. McLeary emphasizes that fostering isn't the only way to help; volunteers, donations, and spreading the word are equally important. To support the rescue's veterinary costs, a yard sale is planned for September 13 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 79 Dunitz Drive in North Kildonan, featuring dog-related items and a kissing booth with some of the rescue's foster dogs.
